Woodlands Historic Homestead and Gardens.

Hello all.

This weeks entry is about the Woodlands Historic Homestead and Gardens, located ten Minutes drive from central Hamilton. It is an attraction that has a identity of historical value to the tourists who wish to further their social and cultural capital. A brief history of the homestead now. The 98,000 arce estate was purchased from the crown in the early 1800s for 25cents an acre. By 1902 the swamp lands surrounding the estate has been transformed into pastoral land, 30,000 acre of swamp land to be in fact. The homestead was built in 1872 and has been restored to it's original charm and character. Woodlands is a living legacy of the early rural Waikato and is the home of the Anchor Brand. The identity of tourist whom visits the homestead was visitors interested in the history of the Waikato and also families who the homestead and gardens are catered. The kids are entertain on the cricket oval while the parents take a walk through the amazing gardens. Youth travellers are not frequently seen at this attraction due to it not having appeal to them. It is more appealing to the middle class families wanting a day out. I recommend that the Homestead should be visited due to is historical value to the local region and to experience something different. That is all for now.

Until Next time

Kind regards

Luke.
